When they reached out they had already booked the one and only Aja with Fur and Lace Photography so I was already over the moon to get to film their elopement beside her. Once we got to talking, I became even more excited as they told me about themselves and their plans for their wedding day.

Taylor and Carl had a small, intimate wedding in Asheville, NC. They knew they wanted to avoid the stress of planning a big wedding. They also knew that they didn’t want to say their intimate vows in front of everyone. We came up with the perfect solution – a ceremony to make it legal with their family and friends and then they would venture into the mountains to say their private vows.

I’ve been dreaming of a Midsommar inspired elopement at Paint Rock Farm for quite some time. Midsommar is one of my absolute favorite films. Make of that what you will. After my first watch, I thought – hmm, this would make a beautiful wedding (minus the cliff diving and bear suits). This idea sat in my head for over a year and I finally decided to round up some amazing vendors and bring this to life.

It’s crazy that this is what I thought as both of my parents eloped when I was young and I never thought anything of it. Myself and many other elopement photographers are working to change how the wedding industry views elopements.
